  1. I’m thinking that “helping” someone is kind of like the paradoxical effect of antidepressants. In some ways the nonverbal message sent to the recipient of this help is saying, “yes, you’re right. You are helpless, you are incapable of dealing with your problems without the help of therapists and/or pharmaceuticals.
